Q. What insurances are necessary for a tree service company?

It is crucial that your tree care company include liability insurance and workers compensation insurance.  Most landscaping companies do not have the necessary insurance (they do not cover workers climbing higher than 8 feet), so this is definitely something to ask for when evaluating companies.

Q. When/How Often Should I Prune My Trees?

Tree pruning and trimming is important to do at least once a year.  Studies show that taking regular care of your trees can actually save money compared to avoiding the work for long periods of time.  If properly cared for, trees are much less likely to break, collapse or cause damage to property.  Additionally they are more likely to increase the property value of your home.

Q. What is a “stump grinder” and why should I grind my stumps?

A stump grinder is a machine specifically designed to grind a tree stump into mulch.  It grinds the stump down below ground level, which can then be covered with soil or sod.  There are many benefits to stump removal, include the obvious aesthetics (makes your yard look better), and safety (tripping over a stump can be dangerous).
